MATSO's First Marketing Exchange Program
Brings Together Top Marketers
From Large Trade Show Industry

Washington, D.C. (September 23, 2004) MATSO, The Major American Trade Show Organizers delivered its first Marketing Exchange Program where 16 MATSO members representing 8 large industry shows heard legal opinion on "Complying With the New Phone, Fax and E-mail Regulations. "This is a timely topic and one that has important implications for almost everyone involved in the sales and marketing of trade shows; especially as it concerns prospecting for new business," said MATSO Managing Director, Meg Ellacott. Local Washington D.C. companies represented at the meeting, hosted by NPES/GASC-GRAPH EXPO included: National Convenience Stores, Convention Management Group, VNU Expositions, National Trade Productions, National Association of Broadcasters, Vision Council of America and INFOCOMM.

Angela Pendergrass, Marketing Manager of Vision Council of America had this to say post-program: "We're already working on what we learned and are very glad we attended the MATSO Marketing Program." Because of the importance of the new government regulations, the meeting's PowerPoint presentation was sent to all MATSO members who weren't local or couldn't make the meeting.

The Major American Trade Show Organizers has developed and brought to market this new program to exchange ideas and learn new strategies on timely topics in the area of event marketing. Paige Pringle, National Trade Productions, Ashley Mills, Vision Council of America and Meg Ellacott, Managing Director of MATSO head up the Committee to implement the program. Members want to see more focus placed on the trade show marketing arena since this is tops on everyone's list. Programs will be geared toward MATSO marketing teams and those prospective MATSO members who meet the eligibility rules of 200,000 nsf. size shows and above.
